The Beautiful Game Consortium, the developers of the world renowned Discovery Soccer Park (DSP), are proud to be announced as the newest member of the IBFA, and are looking forward to representing South Africa on the world stage.
Being the largest outdoor 5-a-side facility in South Africa and the African continent, with 8 x 3G Artificial Grass courts, based at the prestigious Wanderers Club, Johannesburg, DSP are a natural fit to partner the IBFA and to help enable them to achieve their goals. The Beautiful Game Consortium boasts shareholders the likes of Lucas Radebe [ex-Captain of both Bafana Bafana (RSA) & Leeds United (UK) captain].
DSP was opened in 2010, in time for the FIFA World Cup, held on African soil for the first time. Various events and activities were held to open the centre and the facility enjoyed the company of both local and international footballing greats for these events, including Luis Figo, Zinedine Zidane, Patrick Viera, Doctor Khumalo, Mark Williams and Andre Arendse.
The facility has enjoyed a naming rights sponsorship from global medical aid giant Discovery Health, who have recently renewed their sponsorship for a further 5 years.
DSP is currently expanding their operations and the introduction of Bubble Football to their already extensive offering, is the natural next step.
DSP follows a strict philosophy:
- Offer an exceptional small sided sports experience;
- Provide and upmarket venue with pristine facilities;
- Be the best small sided sports facility in the world;
- Operate with integrity, passion and efficiency
If we can’t do that…we would rather not open at all
DSP is a truly cosmopolitan venue, where people of all ages, races and genders, from various cultural and religious backgrounds come together to follow their passion and enjoy the #BeautifulGame. The facility is a true representation of the diverse South African Culture.DSP will be hosting tournament at their centre in order to find the best team to send through to the World Cup in 2016, and hope to grow this offering and experience to other centres throughout South Africa.
